We are pleased to feature Barberton’s Skoops Ice Cream for this month’s Business Spotlight! Terry Rastetter-Helbling (left) and David Helbling (right) are on a mission to “create delicious, memorable experiences and guest loyalty through community involvement and taking care of one another in and around our neighborhoods.” They serve only the highest quality and freshest products in a quick and friendly manner!
Skoops has a rich history in Barberton. The stand was originally built in 1967 by Barberton police officer Pete Peresta. Later in 1985, Larry and Charlotte Smart purchased it and named the shop Skoops! Next, Bev and Jim Woodford took ownership in 1995 and owned it until 2016. For a few years the Skoops building was shut down… then Terry and David stepped in to bring it back to life!
We are so glad that this dynamic duo brought back such a staple in Barberton – and that they brought their delicious, one-of-a-kind vanilla custard recipe with them! You can stop by Skoops for a treat any day of the week from 11:30 am – 9 pm.
Mark your calendars for this month’s Change for Change, which will be at Skoops on Friday, July 28th from 4:30–7 pm. All purchases will benefit Girls on the Run.
